CAB-i-NET SMTP Server
The CAB-i-NET SMTP Service is a Windows™ service that runs in the background on a workstation or server. The CAB-i-NET Workflow Publisher server could also be used to run the service, if available. It listens for incoming emails, and upon receiving one, stores it into the CAB-i-NET Explorer EDMS.
The service is highly configurable and allows certain emails to represent certain folders, so for instance alpha@company.com could store in the Alpha folder in CAB-i-NET Explorer, and beta@company.com could store in (for a more complex example) the “Projects\Contractor A\Outgoing\Emails” folder.
The primary use for this system is to retain business communications and critical files that are sent through electronic means. Simply carbon-copy CAB-i-NET into communications and you can store them safely for future viewing.
