Tata Steel Order More CAB-i-NET Licences

Tata Steel order more CAB-i-NET Browser licences so additional employees located around the large integrated Scunthorpe site can easily search, view and print their drawings and documents. Fast access to these are a vital for the 24/7 support and maintenance activities for steel production on the site.
Tata Steel has now deployed several thousand CAB-i-NET licences across the whole of the UK and has been a customer of tsaADVET for more than twenty years.

tsaADVET and Atkins Rail Partnership Approach

tsaADVET have been working with Atkins Rail to make the assembling and tracking of bid documents easier. These tend to be made up of many different documents but need to be assembled into one PDF document for client handover. Currently this is a time consuming manual process and has to be repeated for each document revision.
By working jointly on ideas a specification has been developed and CAB-i-NET is to be developed to streamline this process by changes to the core code for both CAB-i-NET Explorer and Workflow modules. These changes will be included in a future release scheduled for Q2 in 2013.

Signalling Solutions Order More CAB-i-NET Licences

Signalling Solutions order more CAB-i-NET Explorer licences and Workflow Servers as part of the expansion of CAB-i-NET across the UK. CAB-i-NET is being implemented for managing documentation and design data across their various offices allowing fast and efficient use of the resources available, ensuring control of standards and implementing standard workflow practices.

tsaADVET Invited to attend BIPS Conference in Denmark

tsaADVET have been invited to attend the annual BIPS Conference in Denmark on the 10-11th September where we will be demonstrating and presenting the CAB-i-NET Suite of products to the conference attendees.
BIPS develop common digital structures and standards for language, concepts, methods, exchange formats and other tools and supports the implementation and use as de facto standards in building and construction.

Further information on BIPS can be found from http://bips.dk/

Support for Multi-Sheet Title Blocks

CAB-i-NET already supports the same keyword or attribute being updated on all drawing sheets in a  MicroStation™ or AutoCAD™ file. This is particularly useful for completing drawing title blocks saving designers time manually completing them.
Atkins Denmark has requested that CAB-i-NET handle multi-sheet files having different titles on the CAD drawing sheets. The development will be along the lines of a document record being able to have a number of child records similar to the principle of a book containing a number of chapters etc. The development will be done in the core CAB-i-NET code base and therefore be available to any customer through simple configuration at no extra cost later in the year.

Support for Microsoft Visio

Many CAB-i-NET customers use Microsoft Visio for simple drawings like sketches, network diagrams, flow charts etc. CAB-i-NET now supports the linking of keywords / attributes from the database directly into the drawing. Automatic publishing to a PDF file through a CAB-i-NET Workflow and optional stamping of the Approvers details into the file, is also supported. tsaADVET have worked with Atkins UK on developing this functionality into the core of CAB-i-NET.

tsaADVET win ATKINS Denmark order.

tsaADVET are pleased to announce winning their first sale of CAB-i-NET software in Denmark. Against stiff US competition, Atkins Denmark, Headquartered in Copenhagen, chose CAB-i-NET to manage both their Technical Drawings and General Documentation for all their Denmark and Norway offices.

tsaADVET Release CAB-i-NET V3

tsaADVET are pleased to announce the release of CAB-i-NET Version 3. This is the biggest release of CAB-i-NET since the product was launched back in 2003. Enhancements have been done to allow CAB-i-NET to support the replication of the Master and Instance databases. This allows remote office locations fast access to the data when working on a wide area network. This functionality is built into the core of CAB-i-NET and is available by simple configuration as required for no additional cost in terms of software licences or server modules.
Many other improvements in the areas of concurrency management, faster user navigation through use of Folder Favourites, assignment of users groups and workflow roles from template users, ability to copy versions of files to a new file, or paste as a reference. This used in conjunction with CAB-i-NET Reference Manager (for MicroStation™ and AutoCAD™) facilitates the attachment of previous versions.
Our customers have been heavily involved in the testing and providing feedback for this latest version of CAB-i-NET so it continues to deliver additional benefits to their organisations.

Tata Steel – Sign Two Year Maintenance Agreement
