Tata Steel order more CAB-i-NET Browser licences so additional employees located around the large integrated Scunthorpe site can easily search, view and print their drawings and documents. Fast access to these are a vital for the 24/7 support and maintenance activities for steel production on the site.
Tata Steel has now deployed several thousand CAB-i-NET licences across the whole of the UK and has been a customer of tsaADVET for more than twenty years.
Tata Steel have signed a two year maintenance agreement covering the CAB-i-NET software suite of products. CAB-i-NET is extensively used for the management of the drawings and supporting documentation for the operation of the steel plants. The maintenance drawings are made available by the two-way links between CAB-i-NET and SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) software solutions.
tsaADVET are pleased to continue the service to Tata Steel having been a supplier for more than 20 years.
CAB-i-NET suite of software has been chosen by MIR Steel to manage all their site drawings and associated documentation. All data will be indexed and scanned into CAB-i-NET Explorer by tsaADVET and then made available through the
CAB-i-NET Browser for works-wide personnel. This allows users to have instant access to view and print the latest drawings and documents to support the operation of the business. Further expansion to control general business documentation is expected in the future.
CAB-i-NET is already widely used throughout the Steel Industry with Tata Steel, Celsa, Orb Electrical Steel, Emirates Steel Industry all being valued customers of tsaADVET.
tsaADVET are working closely with Tata Steel to create an Autodesk Inventor add-in to allow auto naming of drawing sheets, creation and import including population and extraction of title block information. Therefore
allowing CAB-i-NET to manage the approval, issue, and revision of the drawings produced from Inventor. Inventor is starting to be widely used for Mechanical design in many CAB-i-NET customers and this added functionality will be available within the core CAB-i-NET system for customers to use if required.
