Tata Steel (formally British Steel and Corus) have been customers of tsaADVET since 1991. tsaADVET have supplied CAD hardware, software and services including scanning and archive services throughout the Tata Steel organisation across the whole of the UK.

Today the CAB-i-NET suite of EDMS software is deployed in over 18 sites in the UK with over 3000 software seats deployed managing several million drawing and document records. The majority of the hardcopy drawings have been scanned and are made available through the CAB-i-NET Browser enabling Plant personnel to view and print the drawings 24/7 therefore supporting the plant operations.

All plant drawings are also linked to the SAP Plant Maintenance module through an automatic CAB-i-NET interface. This allows Engineers and support services to access the latest drawings direct from the SAP interface via the link to CAB-i-NET.

CAB-i-NET does not only handle drawings but has been expanded to manage Project documentation, job files, emails and is to be expanded into other areas of the business.

CAB-i-NET is a vital tool for organisations requiring a reduction in cost, error and to meet project deadlines. CAB-i-NET provides easy-to-use 24-hour global access to accurate and up-to-date drawings and documents and avoids the potential problems associated with the current vogue for vendor-run project hosting sites. This makes it of particular value to companies that need to control their own costs, data and destiny.

CAB-i-NET is used to manage the historical archive of works drawings supporting the plant operation.
